Walt Disney World® Resort is known for its magic and adventure. For six-year-old Tatum, who loves riding rides and exploring, it was the perfect fit for his wish trip.
Tatum lives a very controlled life due to a nervous system disorder and he usually can’t go to amusement parks or anywhere with long lines and large amounts of people. This was no issue, however, because Tatum and his family were able to skip all the long lines and enjoy a week of non-stop fun.
“The pure joy our boys experienced was our favorite part,” Tatum’s mom said. “This experience allowed Tatum to experience something typical kids get to do.”
Tatum’s battle against his nervous system disorder has come along with several admissions into the hospital. His illness has a constant presence, but during their trip to Disney World, joy and happiness were the main characters for the entire family.
“This occurred between his second and third intensive care unit admissions, so it was a vacation we all needed to breathe and recover,” she said.
Their trip was full of magic, smiles and fun, and won’t be something any of Tatum’s family ever forgets.
