Sawyer was mesmerized as construction began on her playhouse.
She has always been imaginative, loving to play make-believe house. Sawyer is also a diligent cleaner who is always willing to lend a hand to ensure her family home is immaculate. When it came time to deciding on her wish, Sawyer wanted a home of her own. Toys “R” Us®, Home Depot®, PPG Paint and TreeHouse Colorado all came together to fulfill this sweet and sassy, three-year-old girl’s wish.
Sawyer was diagnosed with a brain tumor before beginning her Make-A-Wish journey. Allowing for conversations to change from blood counts and test results to playhouse possibilities.
On Saturday, May 14, Sawyer walked through the pathway in her backyard lined with family and friends towards her new playhouse. As the tarp was peeled back from the house, each personalized detail was revealed. Sawyer explored every nook and cranny, admiring the Dutch door and windows while playing peek-a-boo with all of her guests looking on. In true Sawyer fashion, she grabbed the miniature broom and dust pan to make sure her new home was spic and span before allowing her friends and sister, Oakley, inside OakSaw Cottage.
The play kitchen, reading nook and bunny door-knocker were all elements that helped Sawyer and her family transition past weekly doctor visits. “Thank you to everyone involved for granting this place to play and grow and make new memories as we begin to let go of some past painful ones,” Becky, Sawyer’s mom appreciatively said.
