For 8-year-old Rayne, there is no better way to spend the day than to watch Moana and Maui, from the Disney movie Moana ™, rescue their island friends. Though Rayne is battling Hodgkin’s lymphoma, there isn’t a thing in the world that can stop her from cheering and singing along with her favorite princess. For a young girl who has bravely fought her medical condition, the plan to visit the most magical place on earth was the sweetest reward for her unwavering strength. Rayne’s wish took her and her family all the way to Walt Disney World Resorts® in Florida.
Their magical wish trip began when Rayne and her family were picked up from their home and taken to the airport in a white stretch limousine, and before they even arrived at Disney World, Rayne felt like a princess. From the Orlando airport, they headed to Give Kids the World Village where Rayne was head-over-heels happy with the bottomless ice cream opportunities right in front of her eyes. “The village was such a special experience,” Kashala, Rayne’s mom, shared. “Rayne loved feeling like a kid again and putting her own star on the wall was such a sweet experience.” Shortly thereafter, they made the trek to Disney World and Rayne strolled right into the park with the most ecstatic grin on her face. She hopped right to the front of the line at Splash Mountain and the log flumed ride and silly songs kept her giggling even during the fifty foot drop. “Mom screamed throughout the whole ride, but I wasn’t scared at all,” Rayne claimed. Round and round she went, running from one ride to the next. The only thing that stopped her was meeting princesses Elsa and Anna from Frozen ™. Dressed in her own Anna costume, Rayne exchanged big hugs and sweet stories with the two princesses. With so much fun to be had, Rayne and her family made sure to shut the park down each night, never wanting to miss the chance to ride one more ride.
Since her wish experience, Rayne is easily reminded of the magic she experienced while at Disney World by rummaging through her endless photographs and souvenirs. Though far from Cinderella’s castle, a sweet giggle from Rayne is enough to transport her and her family back to their best days during their Disney World adventure.
