LC believes wholeheartedly in the magic of Walt Disney. She loves to sing along and dress up like her favorite princesses. She relishes in playing make-believe, pretending that she is within the fairytales fighting villains. In actuality, she is in the hospital fighting a real-life battle against cancer. LC has faced her medical condition head-on with unmatched courage and a constant smile on her face. When she was told that she could wish for anything in the world, with her signature smile and a twinkle in her eye, LC knew where she wanted to go, to Walt Disney World Resorts.
Upon arriving at the magical kingdom she had long dreamt of, LC's first goal was to pick out her very own princess dress. Entering the store, she was giddy with excitement seeing the racks full of shimmering dresses, rows of glittery high heels and endless crown selections. LC tried on just a few options until the gleaming light-blue dress was the perfect fit. Now she was ready for her debut and meet-and-greet with the princesses she had fantasized about meeting in person. LC was in awe, "Wow this is all real," LC exclaimed.
“Her favorite part of the trip was riding the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, which she rode at least 12 times,” Rebecca, LC's mom, said. Each new ride and encounter fueled LC's energy, propelling her to come more and more out of her shell and excited to interact with new people. Something she had been shy about before her wish. "We really bonded as a family. It was a dream come true," Rebecca shared.
Now that LC and her family are back home and some time has passed, they feel a true magic has filled their lives. Whenever anyone might make a comment to LC about her treatment, she embraces the remarks and proudly responds, "I had cancer, and got to go to Walt Disney World!" LC knows her wish was more than a once-in-a-lifetime experience. She dreams of the day when she can return to the place that has brought her such immeasurable joy.
