A trip to Walt Disney World Resorts® is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for a wish kid. The special treatment, unique park experiences and skip-the-line passes can’t be combined in the same way again, nor can the feeling of being on the wish trip ever be replicated. That’s what makes wishes to Disney so special – they’re life-changing!
When Calie wished to go to Disney World, it meant her whole family came with her. They flew into Florida and were taken to their resort for the week: Give Kids The World Village®, a nonprofit resort that caters specifically to children with critical illnesses. Families stay in private villas, enjoy 24/7 ice cream, lounge at the pool and can even meet Disney characters in the comfort of the Village. Run by volunteers and overseen by Mayor Clayton, a larger-than-life bunny, Give Kids The World is a magical place.
Wish kid Calie was taken aback by her time at GKTW, saying it was one of her favorite parts of the whole experience. She was so moved by the volunteers there that she told her mom one day she hopes to return as a volunteer to give back. "I have the best memories that I know will last forever!” Calie gushed.
In addition to enjoying the amenities of their lodging, Calie’s family also enjoyed all the parks had to offer! Rides, treats, and character meet-and-greets galore! Calie loved meeting Stitch from Lilo & Stitch most of all.
Calie was so grateful to have this experience and was moved to tears at times during the trip because she was having so much fun. Calie said "There are no words to really describe how great my trip was. It was a dream come true!"
