Orion grew up admiring mixed martial arts fighters from afar and dreaming of being a wrestler himself. The 14-year-old has faced a number of life-threatening medical complications due to his Intractable Epilepsy, but nothing could bring him down when he learned Make-A-Wish Colorado was going to make his dream come true! Hence the "Tadpole of Terror" was born!
On Sunday, April 24, Orion arrived in a limo at Muscle Pharm, a local gym, with a large crowd of adoring fans ready to cheer on the Tadpole of Terror. Sporting a green mohawk and costume to intimidate his competition, he and his stepfather, Super Papa, teamed up to take down the elite Team Elevation fighters. "The fighters could have done the bare minimum and still looked like heroes, but they went all out to make my son's day amazing," Orion's mom, Kai, shared.
The fight ended with the takedown of former UFC Bantamweight Champion, TJ Dillashaw, by the Tadpole of Terror! The crowd went wild for the Tadpole of Terror, and his victory finished with his new championship belt in hand.
To celebrate Orion's triumph, he and his friends and family enjoyed music, shaved ice, barbecue, balloons, bubbles, and face painting. The family felt very lucky to be surrounded by their friends and Make-A-Wish volunteers who came to support Orion's day as the Tadpole of Terror. "The volunteers made sure every detail was taken care of. I didn't have to worry about anything for once," Kai shared.
Orion's wish brought the family countless smiles, laughs, and tears of joy. Both his parents agreed that their son enjoyed himself like he never has before. "Make-A-Wish Colorado really does give families something special. My faith in humanity is restored thanks to everyone involved," said Kai.
